China Adoption Wait Going Up

This morning I read on a “China Adoption Rumor Blog” @ http://chinaadopttalk.com that the wait time is likely to increase to 2.5 to 3 years for new China adoption applicants. At this point they’re not even done giving referrals to families who logged in their dossiers in November 2005! If you remember, our LID is July 12, 2006.

The other news was that they are hoping to be able to finish December, 2005 referrals by December, 2007. Then in 2008 they are hoping to be able to give 15 days of referrals every month. That means that it will take 12 months to go through 6 months of referrals which likely puts our adoption referral off until the end of 2008 or beginning of 2009! Wow, what an experience this is turning out to be.

The issue is NOT that there are less girls needing loving homes. The issue is there are less paperwork ready girls that need homes. Our paperwork on the adopting family side is much easier and can be processed much faster than the paperwork on the China side.

So, we continue on in prayer, knowing that God knows all of the details of His plan for us and that His timing is perfect! Thanks for your prayers! Let’s keep praying.
