We are excited to tell you that God touched our hearts and started us on an incredible journey, to adopt a precious little girl from China! You can read more updates about our progress through the China Adoption category on our website.
October, 2009 Update – Last month we filed our paperwork to renew our I-171h with the USCIS in Accra, Ghana. In order to be approved we are waiting on our FBI fingerprint cards to arrive and be processed in Nebraska. They were mailed on 02 September and we are still waiting to hear of whether or not they have been processed. Things continue to drag almost at a standstill but each month there is a little progress. Now we are hoping/praying that we can travel to China before the end of 2010:) Keep praying!
Here are some of the details:
- Adoption Agency – Christian World Adoption
- Adoption Country – China
- Our daughter – She will be between 6-24 months old.
- DTC June 30, 2006 – This is the date we sent our completed dossier to China. Praise God!
- LID July 12, 2006 – This is the date that our dossier was logged into the China Adoption Organzation's computer and the date that is used to process our referral.
- Current wait time – 24-54 months after the LID. Meaning, since our LID was July 12, 2006, at this point we can look for a referral in July to December of 2010. We are praying that this wait will go down to 54 months, which would give us a referral around December of 2010. Join us in prayer that this wait time will go down!
- Travel Timeline - Once we have a referral, we will travel to China two months later to finalize the adoption and bring our daughter home! For example, if we receive a referral in July 2010, we will travel to China in September 2010. We will spend 2 1/2 to 3 weeks traveling to and from China to complete this process.
