Puppies!

Last month our yellow lab (Marley) had three precious puppies: Mia, Bolt and Tank. They are absolutely adorable and getting more and more fun everyday. The boys (and mom and dad) are having a blast watching their puppy antics and new adventures.

I posted pictures and a very cute video of them scarfing down some spaghetti on our Pictures/Video page. Enjoy:)

Container in Kigali

Yesterday I was expecting to get a call from the Clearing Agent at Maersk Shipping to say that our container had successfully cleared security in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania and was on it's way to Kigali with an ETA of 5-7 days.

Instead she called me and said "The container is at Customs in Kigali and is ready to be offloaded. When can you come to open the container?"

WOW, that was fast! We are used to things taking longer than expected but this was a great (and welcome) surprise!

Today, Marty and I will go to "break the seal" on the container. They will unload everything onto pallets and then store them in a huge warehouse where they will sit until all of the customs paper work is finished.

We are praying in expectation that our things will be cleared without import taxes because they are not for commercial resale but rather personal household items.

Non-Government Agencies (NGOs) are allowed to bring personal effects for their personnel into the country without tax so everything should be fine.

Here's the item to pray about though….Our NGO's provisional registration expires April 5. We have applied for permanent registration and have high expectations it will be approved. But we don't know if they will want to wait until the registration is renewed to clear our container or if they will just go ahead and clear it.

Pray that they will go ahead and clear it!

Blessings to all!

Safely in Kigali

Hello everyone! Thank you so much for the prayer cover during our travels.

Our check-in at the airport in Ghana was a breeze. NO trouble with our bags :) Yeah!

Matthew's ear was much better and didn't give him trouble during the trip.

Our plane was a little late arriving in Kigali, but we are SAFE and ALL our luggage made it!

We had a very warm and fun welcome by several families that we know in Kigali. We are settling in to the Dolinger's home for a couple of weeks while we look for housing.

Tonight we are having a fellowship meal and worship time at the Shewmaker's home.

God blessed our trip tremendously! We praise you Lord!
